New York City's Outlets: the Woodbury Common Outlet Mall

This is the biggest and probably the best Outlet in New York! Here, it is possible to visit a large number of brand name shops, which offer their products at the best prices – and at much lower rates than in downtown New York, such as in Manhattan for example 😉

The Woodbury Outlet Mallis an open-air mall that has all the makings of a small village and is a shopper's dream. Inside, ready-to-wear and fashion accessories abound. Discounts are often very attractive, up to 70% off. There are also many offers, sometimes with 2 products for the price of one. In all, this is a very pleasant place, and the shops do not become a battlefield even in the middle of the sales period, (unlike those in the city centre!). You will be able to do your shopping much more peacefully 🙂

These outlet shops are about an hour and a half drive from Manhattan. The easiest way to get there is to book a day trip to Woodbury Common Outlet, departing from central New York 🙂

The Woodbury Common Outlet is open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. It is generally open from 9am to 9pm (these times may vary during certain public holidays).

The Mills at Jersey Gardens (New Jersey)

The Mills is a very large indoor shopping mall in New Jersey. Here you can find over 200 factory outlet shops of the biggest brands, as well as many more traditional shops. The mall is also home to several restaurants (including a good number of fast food restaurants) and even a large movie theatre 😃

The Mills at Jarsey Garden is a good place to find great deals if you haven't managed to find what you want during your shopping spree in Manhattan. New York City's Outlets: how to get to The Mills at Jersey Gardens?

The Mills at Jersey Gardens is located near Newark Airport. It can be reached in about 40 minutes by buses and shuttles from downtown New York. Half a day will not be too much to go there and discover all it has to offer 😉

New York City's Outlets: Empire Outlets (Staten Island)

Empire Outlets was the first outlet mall to open in New York City. This large complex occupies more than 100,000 square metres spread over four levels. Here you will find shops and boutiques where shoppers flock to find bargains. In addition to these shops, the food offer is quite substantial, and you can for example take a break to go to a Shake Shack and taste one of the best New York burgers 😋

Empire Outlets alone brings a lot of visitors to Staten Island, despite the fact that it is a mostly residential island. From outside the shopping centre, it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline. You can even take advantage of your shopping trip to discover the rather peaceful neighbourhood! Inside, it is sometimes hard to believe that the centre of the world's busiest city is just a few minutes away 🙂

How to get to Empire Outlets?

These factory outlets are located on Staten Island, in the St George Waterfront neighbourhood. Getting there from Manhattan is much quicker than going to Jersey Gardens or Woodbury Mall.

To get to the Empire Outlets, simply take the famous Staten Island Ferry from Whitehall Ferry Terminal, in the south of Manhattan, to Battery Park. You can reach the terminal by taking the New York metro on line 1 to its terminus, South Ferry. Not only is the trip free, but the ride itself is something that you must experience at least once during a stay in the Big Apple 😁

The ferry makes over 100 trips between Manhattan and Staten Island each day. During the crossing – which lasts about 20 minutes – you can enjoy great views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, but also Governors Island and parts of New Jersey and Brooklyn. Once on Staten Island, it's just a short walk from the pier to Empire Outlets 😊

Tanger Outlets is a shopping centre with dozens of factory outlets and designer and brand name shops Even if the place is less famous than the big Outlets in New York, it is still a very pleasant open-air shopping centre, with large and wide streets, and a very interesting offer of shops. Tanger Outlet is quite easy to get to, and you can find great deals not only during the sales periods, but also during the rest of the year 👍

New York's Outlets: how to get to Tanger Outlets?

Tanger Outlets is located on Long Island, near the Long Island Deer Park Station – which is easily accessible from Penn Station in Manhattan, via the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).

Special "Tanger Deer Park" tickets are available at ticket offices or vending machines (select "Deals & Getaways" then "Long Island Getaways"). These tickets allow you to take the train to Long Island, and then take a shuttle that will take you to Tanger Outlets in 5 minutes. Such a ticket also serves as a coupon to be redeemed on the spot for additional discounts in the mall's shops 😄
